Terms and Conditions

1. DELIVERY & PICK UPS

  1. Delivery times quoted by BedsOnline* are approximate only and we are not responsible for any delays.
  2. We agree to deliver goods to you on the understanding reasonable access is available. If reasonable access is unavailable or you are not at home at the agreed delivery time you will be charged for any subsequent delivery.
  3. It is your responsibility to check measurements to ensure your goods will fit in intended areas. We are not responsible for goods that have not been measured and subsequently do not fit were intended.
  4. On delivery, inspect your goods carefully. Any damage detected should be immediately reported to the carrier and us and noted on the delivery copy. Once you have inspected your goods and have signed their acceptance on the delivery copy (noting any damage if any), you agree that the delivery copy is then evidence of the condition of the goods as at the time of delivery.
  5. Please organise adequate protection for your floors and internal surfaces prior to delivery as we are not responsible for damage to your floors or internal surfaces caused in any way by the delivery of your goods. Due to OH&S requirements, delivery personnel must wear appropriate footwear at all times so take measures to ensure your floors and internal surfaces are protected.
  6. Items labelled RTA (ready to assemble) will require self assembly. Disposal of packaging is also your responsibility.
  7. Disposal of packaging is the responsibility of the customer. Bedsonline will not be responsible for the removal of any packaging material.
  8. Be advised – stairs or any additional handling may incur additional charges.
  9. On pickups from our stores or warehouses, inspect your goods carefully. Any damage detected should be immediately reported to us and noted on the pick up copy. Once you have inspected your goods and have signed their acceptance on the pick up copy (noting any damage if any), you agree that the pick up copy is then evidence of the condition of the goods at the time of pick up. We are not responsible for any damage that may subsequently occur as a result of you loading the goods into transport.
  10. Due to OH&S requirements, our store and warehouse staff cannot assist you in lifting your goods when you pick up. Please therefore ensure you bring someone to help you and that you bring adequate wrapping, blanket or materials to transport your goods safel

2. PAYMENTS

In Store Transactions

  1. For initial deposits/payments: we accept cash, credit card (excluding Diners/American Express), Eftpos as well as bank/personal cheque and money order.
  2. For final payment: we accept in store prior to delivery/pickup or on delivery. Payment in store will be accepted by credit card (excluding Diners/American Express), Eftpos as well as bank cheque and money order. Payment on delivery will be accepted by credit card (excluding Diners/American Express), bank cheque, and mobile Eftpos (from metro stores only), payable to the carrier.
  3. Please note personal cheques will not be accepted for final payment either in store or on delivery.

Online Transactions

We accept money transfer, credit card, ZipMoney or Pay Pal for online orders; paid in full at time of purchase.

3. DEPOSITS

Unless we otherwise stipulate all:

  1. in store transactions (“standard transactions”), made to order transactions and orders on finance, require a 20% deposit (which cannot be paid by finance); and
  2. online transactions including related delivery and additional charges (if any) require payment in full at time of purchase.

4. CANCELLATIONS

  1. Cancellation on standard transactions and online transactions will incur a cancellation fee of 10% of the invoice value. Cancellation on made to order transactions and orders on finance will incur a cancellation fee of 20% of the invoice value. This fee will be deducted from the refund of any money you have already paid. This fee reflects our reasonable costs.
  2. If for any reason we are unable to supply the goods any monies paid will be refunded to you.
  3. Please note that under relevant health regulations, all soft furnishing items (including sheets, pillows, pillow cases, mattress toppers etc.) are non-refundable unless faulty. We encourage you to make your selection carefully prior to your purchase.

5. REFUND POLICY

  1. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
  2. Please choose carefully however as we do not refund simply for change of mind or circumstances.

6. WARRANTIES

  1. BedsOnline provide to the original purchaser the following supplier warranties or guarantees against defects:-
    1. Timber furniture: 1 year structural warranty; and
    2. Lounges fabric & leather: 5 year structural warranty on frames; 3 year on mechanisms (mechanisms covered to 120 kg weight load only) and 1 year warranty on stitching/covering.
    3. Mattresses & Beds: the length of guarantee is stated on the product information page of that model. During this period, if service is required, we only offer the original purchaser the right of replacement or repair due to faulty workmanship and materials, free of charge.
      However any transportation costs will be borne by the purchaser. If identical materials are no longer available Bedsonline reserves the right to substitute materials of equal or higher quality if necessary.
      Bedsonline reserves the right to refuse service when a product is found to be in an unsanitary condition or stained, or when the cause of the failure is not from defective workmanship or materials.

      Bedsonline reserves the right to charge an up-front call out fee prior to an inspection taking place at any stage during the life of the mattress. This fee will be refunded should a manufacturing fault be discovered.

      The mattress guarantee only covers the following manufacturing faults during normal use:
      - Coils or wires that are loose or broken
      - Coils or wires that protrude or tear through the fabric.
      The mattress guarantee does not cover: 
      - Normal body indentations (less than 40mm) as they are a normal occurrence and indicate the comfort layers are conforming to      your body contours which is a normal part of mattress wear and tear.
      - Damage caused by the use of incorrect bed bases or incorrect bed slat types or positioning. 
      - New bed smell or odour.
      - Mattress fabric, including stains, pilling or loose covers.
      - Damage due to abuse
      - Handles, these should not be used to carry or support the full weight, only to be used to position the mattress.
      - Border wire - these run around the perimeter of spring mattresses and can bend due to moving or folding the mattress.
      - Minor manufacturing anomalies that don't impact the performance of the mattress e.g.missed stitches on quilting. 

    All other goods sold by BedsOnline are covered by manufacturers’ warranties or guarantees (if applicable).

  2. Defects covered by BedsOnline’s supplier warranties will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of BedsOnline (subject to your rights under the ACL with respect to major failures) without cost to you for parts or direct repair labour.
    BedsOnline’s supplier warranties do not cover, and BedsOnline is not liable for, any fading or other change in colouration (“exposure”), any damage caused by general day to day wear and tear (“general usage”) or if the goods are used in a manner outside of their prescribed or ordinary use. All other warranties and liability of BedsOnline for any loss or damage, direct or consequential, is expressly excluded.
  3. The rights given by BedsOnline’s supplier warranties are in addition to any rights and remedies you may have under the ACL and other laws. To claim under a BedsOnline supplier warranty you should call our call centre on 1300 112 337 or write to “Warranties Officer: Beds Online, 11 Siddons Way, Hallam VIC 3803.” Subject to your rights under the ACL, you are responsible for all costs associated with the claim including all freightage and transport costs. You must provide sufficient evidence of proof of purchase to be entitled to claim.

7. PROOF OF PURCHASE

In order to apply for a refund, exchange, repair or claim a warranty, you must have clear proof of purchase of either your tax invoice or receipt. BedsOnline hold a limited history of orders and aren’t provisioned to search for archived transactions. Presenting proof of purchase is your responsibility so please retain your invoices and/or receipts as we cannot act without sufficient proof of purchase.

8. PRODUCT SAFETY AND CARE

  1. Serious or fatal injuries can occur from furniture tip-over. To help prevent tip-over it is essential you install any anchor device provided with your goods, carefully following assembly instructions. You MUST install the device provided Immediately as you set the goods in your home. BedsOnline are committed to ensuring 100% safety in all goods supplied, so please contact us if you need further assistance with the installation.   2. Some of our goods (eg timber/leather/fabric) are produced using natural materials. The colour/appearance/distinctive marks of these materials can differ from batch to batch. Please be aware of this when purchasing goods to match existing pieces in your home.
  3. High gloss and glass products may show slight imperfections. If unsure please visit a store to view the goods.
  4. When purchasing timber/leather goods note that these products are from real living materials and will move, change shape, develop surface irregularities and will have colour variation as the goods continue to behave as a real living material. As each good’s appearance is shaped by its past – differences in goods will be evident such as climate effects, wildlife activity, fire, wind, age etc on some timber/leather. Please be advised that no two pieces will ever be identical, your piece will always be one of a kind.
  5. All product care information supplied by BedsOnline is for advisory purposes only and should not be taken as direction.
  6. To the fullest extent permitted by law, including the ACL, the following provisions apply:
    1. BedsOnline does not warrant the accuracy of any product safety information (including any Safety Guide) or product care information provided with your goods or which you may access through this website and the content is provided to you on condition that you undertake all responsibility for assessing the accuracy and suitability of the content and rely on it at your own risk; and
    2. BedsOnline will have no responsibility or liability in relation to any loss or damage that you incur (including to property or person) arising from your use of your purchased goods or your reliance on any product safety information (including any Safety Guide) or product care information provided with your goods or which you may access through this website and you release BedsOnline from any such claim, damage or loss except to the extent that any such claim, damage or loss is caused or contributed to by the negligence of BedsOnline.
  7. Proceeding with your order shows confirmation of your agreement that your goods are purchased on this understanding.

9. RECOMMENDED RETAIL PRICE (RRP)

BedsOnline’s RRP is the manufacturer/provider’s RRP or, where RRP is unavailable, the price is set by BedsOnline at a reasonable estimate of the market price.

10. GENERAL FINANCE CONDITIONS

BedsOnline’s generic interest free terms are: To approved applicants. Minimum finance amounts apply. Fees, charges and conditions apply. See in store for details.

11. GIFT CARDS - IN STORE ONLY

  1. BedsOnline’s Gift Cards are only redeemable at participating BedsOnline stores and are not redeemable for cash.
  2. BedsOnline will not give change for any balance that remains on the Card. Any such balance can only be used in whole or part against future purchases at participating BedsOnline stores.
  3. The Card is valid one calendar year after the date the participating store issued the Card.
  4. It is up to the Card holder to use the full value of the Card before the expiry date. Any unused balance will not be refunded or credited when the Card expires.
  5. Where the cost of the purchases exceeds the available Card balance, the Card holder will be required to make up the difference between the purchase price and the Card balance.
  6. The Card will not be replaced if lost, stolen or damaged.
  7. All purchases made using a Card are subject to BedsOnline’s other general terms and conditions.

12. 101 NIGHT IN HOME TRIAL

  1. The BedsOnline 101-Night In Home-Trial exchange applies only to mattresses and excludes all other goods.
  2. You may exchange between mattress brands, make and models (but not sizes).
  3. The 101-Night In-Home-Trial period commences on the day you take possession of your mattress.
  4. When trialling your mattress please retain the original packaging so that our delivery team can repackage the mattress for transportation if exchanging your original mattress purchase.
  5. If your replacement mattress is more expensive than your original purchase, you will be required to pay the difference between the two items before the replacement mattress can be delivered.
  6. Your replacement mattress must be equal to or a higher value than the original mattress.
  7. All credits will be issued within approximately 14-working days after the mattress has been returned and inspected by BedsOnline.
  8. The 101-Night In-Home-Trial is intended to permit customers to evaluate the comfort level of a mattress and exchanges between sizes is not permitted.
  9. The 101-Night In-Home-Trial cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or discount and no discount or promotion can be applied to the replacement mattress.
  10. Exchanges do not apply to the ensemble base.
  11. Delivery and freight fees are non-refundable.
  12. An Exchange fee of $179 is required before delivery of the replacement item can take place.
  13. All returned mattresses and packaging must be in original or good condition and the 101-Night In Home-Trial offer is void if the goods are altered, broken, damaged, soiled or stained.
  14. The BedsOnline 101-Night In Home-Trial offer is limited to one exchange.
  15. In order to qualify for the 101 night comfort trial, purchasers MUST use an industry standard mattress protector for the duration of their trial. Non-compliance will result in not qualifying for the exchange offer. Evidence to suggest a mattress protector was not used will void the purchaser the opportunity to take part in the trial. Purchasers who qualify are at the sole discretion of Bedsonline.
  16. In order to qualify for the 101 night comfort trial, purchasers MUST use an industry standard mattress protector for the duration of their trial. Non-compliance will result in not qualifying for the exchange offer. Evidence to suggest a mattress protector was not used will void the purchaser the opportunity to take part in the trial. Purchasers who qualify are at the sole discretion of Bedsonline.
  17. If you live in a rural or remote area (as determined by us), an additional collection and delivery fee will apply. That fee will be determined by us by the distance from your location to the nearest BedsOnline outlet and will be quoted, for your approval, upon your exchange request.
  18. All exchanges and cancellations are subject to BedsOnline approval.

13. OTHER TERMS

  1. Our accessories in print/website/television or any other media or advertising are for display purposes only. Our display accessories shown in photographs are not included in prices quoted.
  2. Actual product colours may vary slightly due to printed/web colour.
  3. BedsOnline reserve the right to correct errors and misprints and to change product specifications.
  4. Fabric costs may vary. Goods are priced according to fabric featured in photographs.
  5. To keep prices low, some goods may require self assembly i.e. R.T.A. (ready to assemble).
  6. Please note: dimensions found on product pages and descriptions either instore or online are approximate only and are taken from the widest points.
  7. All goods are advertised in good faith and will be available, except in circumstances beyond our control. A failure by the manufacturer/supplier to deliver in accordance with sample, description or at all, may result in some goods being unavailable.
  8. BedsOnline reserve the right to cancel any order without limitation. In this event a full refund will be paid.
  9. Each order for goods that you place and accepted by BedsOnline will be a separate and binding agreement between you and BedsOnline with respect to the supply of the relevant goods, in accordance with these General Terms and Conditions.
  10. You acknowledge that all goods that you order are intended for personal, domestic, non-commercial use only.

14. DIRECT MARKETING

Like most businesses, marketing is important to our continued success. We believe we have a unique range of products and services that we provide to customers at a high standard. We therefore like to stay in touch with customers and let them know about new opportunities. We may provide you with information about new products, services and promotions either from us, or from third parties which may be of interest to you. We will not disclose your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes without first notifying you. You may opt out at any time if you no longer wish to receive commercial messages from us. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to update, change or replace any part of these Terms & Conditions by posting updates and changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check our website periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to our website following the posting of any changes to these Terms & Conditions constitutes acceptance of those changes.
